Amy is the daughter of William Wallace Powers, Sr. and Emma Elizabeth (McNutt) Powers. She married Ernest A. Putney on June 27, 1899 in Oceana Co., MI. They had 5 children - 4 who survived to become adults: Elizabeth Elma Putney, Ezra Cole Putney, Eleanor Maria Putney, Wallace Henry Putney and a child that died in infancy.

"Amy Powers was born August 3, 1879 at Ferry, MI. At the age of 12 she was baptized by Rev. Sprague. In 1899 she was united in marriage to Earnest Putney and to this union 2 girls and 2 boys have been born. In 1903 she joined the W.M. Church, since which time she remained a faithful member.
She died at the home of her parents March 26, 1911. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband Earnest Putney, 4 children; Elizabeth, Ezra, Eleanor and Wallace Putney; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. William W. Powers, a sister Mary Weyant; 4 brothers, Lindsey, William, Charles, and George Powers besides other relatives and a host of friends. Her last words were 'I am happy and contented'."
