Mrs. C. F. Hoey Dies at the Age of 68 Years

Mrs. Amanda Lucinda Hoey, wife of Charles F. Hoey, 857 N. Seventh St., died in her home at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday morning after and illness since Thursday with complications. She was 68 years of age.

She was born and reared in Snyder County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Bailey. She was a resident of Sunbury for the past 30 years.

After death of her first husband, William Ackley, to whom her seven children were born, she married Mr. Hoey. She was long a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband and seven children as follows: Mrs. Mary Williams, Sunbury; George William Ackley, Winfield; Arthur Ackley, Augustaville; Ernest Ackley, Lancaster; Miss Nona Ackley, Chicago; Mrs. Margaret Bressler, of Reading; Charles Ackley, Middleburg; and two step children, Charles T. Hoey and Mrs. Ethel Speece of Sunbury; 22 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; two sisters and one brother Mrs. Virgie Bittner, Selingsgrove; Mrs. Ella Gemberling, Lewisburg; and John Bailey, Hummel's Wharf.

Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Glenn Flinchbaugh pastor of the Evangelical Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Pomfret Manor Cemetery. Remains may be viewed at the home Thursday evening and Friday to time for the funeral.
