KERRVILLE? John F. Jobes, 74, died June 1, 2005, in Kerrville, Texas. He was born Dec. 23, 1930, to Roquey George and Alice Domingues Jobes.
A proud sailor, after four years of Naval service, John returned to college at SWTSU, and married Christina Champion in 1956. Known to friends and family by many names ? Mr. Jobes, Uncle Bunky, Brother John, Daddy, Granpaw ? he leaves behind a legacy of love for family and friends, a love of life and a hearty laugh.
John is survived by daughter, Mary Katherine Jobes of Kerrville; daughter, Frances Anne Smetana and her husband, David; grandchildren, Payton Jobes and Kasey Liegh, all of Salado, TX; sister, Mary Lee Stewart of Kerrville; brothers, Bill Jobes of Fort Worth, and Roquey George Jobes Jr. of Metarie, LA; Tina Jobes of Holland, TX; as well as many nieces, nephews and so many whose lives he touched with a big laugh, a bigger heart, and a huge hand to help anyone he could.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, June 3, 2005, at 7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Deacon Charles Domingues.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
