Mrs. Edith M. (Evans) Allen, seventy-seven, R.D. 1 Union City, ied Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Hospital where she had been hospitalized for the past five weeks. She had been ill for the past six weeks.
Born in Greene Twp, Erie County. She had resided in the Union City area all her life.
She was the widow of Willard R. Allen and is survived by one daughter, Mrs Lawrence (Ruth) Phillips, Erie; three sons, Bernard, RD 1 Union City; Leonard, Lake Pleasant; Russell, Barton Road, R.. 2 Waterford, PA.; two sister, Mrs. Pearl Conn and Mrs. Belle Almstead, North East, and three brothers, Clayton Evans, Wesleyville; Denver and Ray Evans, North East. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Russell C. Schmidt Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, Pa handled the arrangements. A relative, the Rev. Charles Lincoln, pastor of the Canton, O Evangelical United Brethren church, will officiate. Interment followed in the Wales Cemetery, near Wattsburg.
