Haze G. Bennett, son of Vernor C. Bennett and Emogene Bangs ["Jean" Bangs"], married Myrta E. Young, daughter of George A. Young and Helen Taylor, on 25 Sept 1911, in Chelsea, Washtenaw, Michigan, per marriage record.

Haze G. Bennett, 70, of 9661 Rushton Rd., South Lyon, died Sunday at Mt. Pleasant Com. Hospital, after a stroke. He had been vacationing at Clare.

The deceased was born June 21, 1889, the son of Vern and Jean Bangs Bennett. The house where he was born is the one owned by Don Swarthout. The family later moved to Ann Arbor.

For many years he lived in Detroit where he was a supt. in the Ford Motor Co. Rolling Mill. While here he organized the Ford Rolling Mill team to work Masonic degrees and became widely known as the team traveled all over the state and in Canada and other states for 10 years. He worked degrees in every lodge in this county, working one in Pinckney in 1945. His degree team also carried a company of dancers and entertainers.

He transferred his membership from Wolverine to South Lyon Lodge No. 319 and was elected master of that lodge in 1944.

He was married three times. His first wife was Myrtle Young of Chelsea, his second Nellie Alberts of Chelsea. Both are deceased. In 1955 he married Mildred Culp of Detroit. There are no children. He has a brother, Harry Bennett of Hot Springs, California.

The funeral was Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Phillips Funeral Home, South Lyon. Cremation followed.
