Flight Engineer aboard Beech AT-11 Kansan #42-37328.

Killed in a crash, six miles north of Grass Valley, Oregon.
Pilot, 2LT Chester W Claflin also perished.
The flight was cleared from Klamath Falls on a leg to The Dalles then onward to Pasco, Washington when it crashed in heavy fog and severe icing conditions. A rancher who heard the airplane flying low over his property, found the wreckage the next day during a search, following a news radio report about the missing airmen.
