The children were all born during the family's stay in Louisville, Kentucky, later moving to Wilmington where he practiced medicine. According to the Directory of Deceased American Physicians, he received his education at Univerisy of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He died from Bright's Disease at age 61 in Greenville.
