James W. Topper, Jr. and Ada Joann Harmon Topper, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at their residence.

Mr. Topper was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of the late James W. Topper, Sr. and Eileen C. Topper. He was a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force and retired after twenty years of service.

Mrs. Topper was born in Maryville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Clark Harmon and Nora Whitehead Harmon. Mrs. Topper was an avid gardener, loved cooking, entertaining and traveling. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mr. Topper is survived by: two sisters, Mary Morkosky and her husband James and Eileen Goode and her husband Dennis along with two nieces and their families.

Mrs. Topper is survived by: one daughter, Joan Estelle Keller and her husband Mike of W.VA; one adopted son, Timothy Treichel of KY; one brother, John H. Harmon and his wife Tuple of MI; two sisters, Jane Sutphin and her husband Jim of Sumter and Nora Lea Harmon of Sumter and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Topper was preceded in death by one son, Donald B. Kegley and two sisters, Jean Hubenak and Marjorie Johnson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Sumter Cemetery.
