Snyder

Amos Snyder, was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania, May 12, 1851, son of David and Elizabeth Snyder. At the age of 22 he came to Shelby, Richland County, and was soon after united in marriage to Hannah N. Souder, the eleventh day of December 1873. To this union was born five sons and three daughters; Roy Snyder of Sturgis, Michigan, Blanch Jennings and Mr. and Mrs. John Stout of Kendallville, Frank, Cloyd and Clyde Snyder.
In they year 1877 he with his family, moved to DeKalb County, Indiana, locating one mile north of Butler, on what was known as the Jerry Lewis farm of 160 Acres. He there engaged in farming and buying and dealing in horses. In the year of 1903 he retired he retired and moved to town, residing on West Oak Street, until his death. He leaves to mourn their loss, his faithful wife, seven children, 24 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister and three brothers and many friends.
Mr. Snyder proved himself a good husband and father, a kind neighbor and friend. The funeral services were held in the Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. Burial was made in the Butler Cemetery, the Reverend Noren of Auburn, officiating.
