Alice Victoria Lantz was orphaned when young and she was sent by train to a family west of Butler, where a husband and wife who were childless took Alice in and raised her as their own. Willis and Dora Dannells were the people that raised great-great grandma Alice. Willis was a former elected official for DeKalb County. He and his wife are entombed at the Waterloo Mausoleum.
