Ruth L. Barker, age 89 of Lakeland, Florida, a former resident of the Sugar Grove area, passed away peacefully and went to be with our Lord Friday, June 6, 2013 at the Grace Manor Assisted Living Facility, Lakeland Florida.
She was born February 29, 1924 in Stratton, OH the daughter of the late Harry and Allie (Martin) Glenn.
Ruth was a member of the Stratton Church of the Nazarene, Stratton, OH and the Heatherwood village Social Club of Lakeland, FL
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers – James, Wesley and Robert Glenn and sister – Blanche Crawford.
Ruth is survived by her husband – Onel A. Barker of Lakeland, FL whom she married May 6, 1946, and enjoyed many happy memories together over their 67 years of marriage; daughter – Pamela Young of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter – Danielle (Matthew) Zaitzew of Longmont, Colorado; grandson – William Eric (Kelly) Young of DeLand, FL; great-grandchildren – Silas and Calla Zaitzew and Matthew Young; sister – Jayne Morgan of Yucaipa, CA.
