John Yust
Sylvia - John Yust, 98, an early settler in this community, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at his home. He was born in Canton, Mo., and came here in 1876. Mr. Yust served three terms as a member of the Kansas House of representatives in the 1920's.
Survivors include five sons, Robert and Albert, both of Sylvia; Russ, Garden City; Laurin, West Covina, Calif.; and Earl, of Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Kiemel, Sylvia; Mrs. Mildred Jones, Dodge City; and Ruth Yust, New York City; 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Evangelical United brethren Church with Rev. C.L. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at Peacock and Soice Chapel in stafford between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
