He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Saints Rose and Clement Parish and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2295 in Warwick. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. In July 1999, Joe had a "hole in one" on the 12th hole of the Cranston Country Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Andrade, RN, and a son, Deacon Kenneth J. Andrade, and his wife Helen, both of Warwick; four grandchildren, Jennifer M. Andrade-Seaton, executive assistant of the Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, and her husband, Dennis of North Providence, Jason M. Andrade, Firefighter, TFD, and his fiancée, Julia Longo of Seekonk, MA, SGT Sean P. Andrade, RIANG, currently deployed to Afghanistan, and SSG Brian C. Andrade, U.S. Army, Columbus, GA; and a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Rose Ferreira. He is, also, survived by a brother, Anthony G. Andrade, of Bradenton, FL, and a sister, Mary F. Gadouas of Coventry. He was the brother of the late Manuel G. Andrade.
His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME , 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
In lieu of flowers contributions to the Mother Teresa Fund, Ss. Rose and Clement Parish, 111 Long Street, Warwick, RI 02886 or The Little Flower Shrine, (St. Therese), 35 Dion Drive, Harrisville, RI 02830 would be appreciated.
