She was a graduate of Spring Arbor College where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree. She married Duane C. Dean on Sept. 19, 1947, and he passed away Nov. 12,
1991.
Mrs. Dean was an elementary teacher where she taught second and third graders for the Lansing Public School District for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
Annetta was a member of the Central Free Methodist Church in Lansing, Michigan, where she also served as the church librarian. She loved to travel, scrapbook and thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney D. Dean of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Bryan L. Dean of Denver, CO; a daughter and
son-in-law, Nancy J. and Tong Nokaya of Auburn; six grandchildren, Kelly Mullen, Mandy Dean, Jason Dean, Rebecca Corman, Bradley Carroll, and Sydney Nokaya; five
great-grandchildren, Madison Mullen, Max Mullen, Zane Dean, Nicholas Dean, and Isaac Corman; a brother, Eldon Bennett of Mason, MI; and two sisters, Joyce Hall
of Bradenton, Fl., and Norma Payne of Spring Arbor, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The funeral service was held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
