Larry B. Pennington, 61, of Rossiter, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at UPMC Montifiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born April 2, 1952, in Erie, a son of the late Walter Pennington and Fannie (Berringer) Pennington.
His mother survives and resides in Rossiter.
He was a 1970 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
He graduated at the top of his class from Westmoreland Business College.
On Oct. 30, 2011, he married Margaret DeRobertis. She survives.
Larry was a foster care provider.
He was an avid hunter and president of the Backdoor Outlaw Archery Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Misty Kimmerle and husband Jeff of Juneau, Amber Pennington of Pittsburgh and Jared Pennington of Punxsutawney; two stepdaughters, Jessie Offidani and Andrea Sargent; three grandchildren, Faith Kimmerle, Sienna Sargent and Desmond Offidani; three sisters, Wanda Means of Rossiter, Linda Fetterman and husband Dick of Punxsutawney and Diane Moore of Punxsutawney; three nieces, Melissa Fetterman, Tricia Darfuss and Brandi Peace; and two nephews, Jason Fetterman and Adam Means.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Long; a brother-in-law, Denny Moore; and a stepson, Adam Offidani.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the funeral home, officiated by John Stockdale.
