MRS. J. O. LUCAS OF ARCOLA DIES
Arcola, Ill., July 30. — Mrs. J. O. Lucas died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Prout, Saturday night from heart trouble.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Prout home. Burial will be in the Arcola cemetery.
Mrs. Lucas, as Amanda Feeler, was born in Washington county, Indiana, Aug. 3. 1860, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pizzare Feeler. On Feb. 5, 1880, she was married to J. O. Lucas. To this union eight children were born, all of whom are living. They are B. E. Lucas and Mrs. Elmer Stewart of Oakland, Mrs. Worth Peeler, Mrs. Clyde Linville, Mrs. Lewis Prout, Mrs. George Stertzum and Mrs. George Dilliner, all of Arcola, and Mrs. W. W. Bonnom of Kansas.
The family came to Douglas county in March, 1898, and located on a farm near Arcola. They lived there with the exception of a few months spent in Terre Haute, Ind., until 1909, when they moved to Arcola.
Mr. Lucas died Sept. 21, 1933. Since his death Mrs. Lucas had made her home with her children.
William Feeler of Villa Grove and Michael Feeler of Henryville, Ind., are brothers of Mrs. Lucas.
