RONALD FRANKLIN ADKINS, 70, of Ona, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Arbor's of Delaware. He was born April 7, 1936, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of the late Eber and Opal Adkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Reynolds Adkins, and one brother, Carlton Adkins.

He is survived by two daughters, Jan Kirk of Ona and Rhonda McComas of Florida; one son, Gregory Adkins of Ona; three sisters, Junia Ross of Powell, Ohio, Shelia Fellows of Englewood, Fla., and Karen Oncale, of Napoleonville, La.; one brother, Carroll D. Adkins of Delaware, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from H.K. Porter/Conner Steel of Huntington.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by the Rev. Donald Hager. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery.
