Ada L. Aylesworth, 101, formerly of the Gillespie Road, Fulton, died Sunday, March 27, at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home after a brief illness.
A native of Volney, Miss Aylesworth was a
life resident of the Fulton area. She retired in
1970 as the teaching principal at Erie Street
Elementary School in Fulton after 25 years.
Miss Aylesworth had taught elementary education in the Fulton Consolidated School System for over 55 years. She was beloved by her students and helped many needy families. Miss Aylesworth was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, where she had served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, and as a member of the women's society. She was also a member of the Fulton Business and
Professional Women's Club, the Women's Club of Fulton, the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, the New York State Teachers Association, and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of the Oswego Normal School. There are no known survivors. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
March 30, at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton
