Mrs. Mary Ann Black Butler, age 69, of Charlotte, died May 22, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM Sunday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel, with Reverend Shirley Canty and Reverend Ray Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Butler was born April 14, 1934 in Charlotte, daughter of the late Thomas Wilder and Campbell Parham Black. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and owner of Butler Service, Heating and Air Conditioning.
She is survived by children, Donald Raymond Butler II and Companion, Donna Dilling, and David Lindsay Butler and companion, Kathy Southern; grandchildren, Natalie Butler, Melissa Butler, Donald R. Butler, III, Michael Butler, William Hayes and Bradley Hayes; great grandchildren, Taya Butler; brothers, John Thomas Black and wife, Martha, Robert Wilder Black and wife, Ruby, Joe Edward Black and wife, Maxine, and Richard Eugene Black; a sister, Alice Black Jarrell and husband, Richard; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Raymond Butler, Sr., and a daughter, Joy Ann Butler Hayes.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hayes, Thomas Brimhall, Cooper Casner, June Mullis, Kale Butler and Dan Purdy.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
