Donald Ray Barnes, age 72 of Harrisburg, passed away at 1AM, Monday, June 10, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Donald was born on Monday, June 2, 1941, to the late Kenneth "Red" and Helen (Ewell) Barnes. He married Ruby DeBose on June 12, 1960, and she preceded him in death in 1999. Donald was a truck driver and a member of Cedar Bluff Social Brethren Church.
Donald is survived by daughter, Donna Stone and husband Tim of Harrisburg, daughter, Janice Vidmar and husband Richard of Harrisburg; son, Donald Ray Barnes, Jr., and wife Sandra of Harrisburg, daughter Glenda Vandenboom of Harrisburg; son, Richard Barnes and wife Debi of Rantoul, Illinois, son, Kenny Barnes and wife Misty of Elizabethtown, Illinois; sister, Judy Oglesby and husband Bill of Harrisburg, sister Joan DeBose and husband Clifford of Harrisburg; sister Joyce DeBose of Eldorado; sister Janice King and husband Dorris of Harrisburg, brother Ronnie Barnes and wife Bev of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Wilma Barnes; eleven grandchildren: Stephanie Prather, Samantha Jackson, Joey Barnes, Jessica Barnes, Jonathon Couture, Brandi Thompson, Kenny Barnes, Jr., Erica Barnes, Kimberly Barnes, Dylan Vandenboom, Cheyenne Vandenboom, and Jacob Barnes; seven great grandchildren: Layonah Barnes, Caitlyn Jackson, Chloe Jackson, Colton Prather, Clayton Prather, JonRyan Couture, and Caleb Couture; and a special friend Christine Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Mandy Curry will officiate, and burial will follow in Coffee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
