Timothy G. Zajaros

Tim has a very diverse, yet extensive background in the automobile business.

He embarked on his automotive career at an early age dusting parts bins and sweeping the service department floors at his grandfather's dealership in Detroit. From then and through high school, Tim periodically worked at his grandfather's store, and also full-time at a dealership in Cleveland prior to entering Northwood University.

Post graduation, Tim has held positions in every department of the dealership – from general management on down. Additional management roles included general sales manager, used car, F&I, lease and rental, and assistant body shop manager. Other dealership experiences included service advisor, accounting, sales – new, used, truck, and fleet. After 17 years working in dealerships, Tim was lured away into working with manufacturers. His roles included considerable work developing and implementing dealership training initiatives as well as a variety of marketing and advertising-related activities. Agencies Tim was associated with included Carlson Marketing, Reynolds & Reynolds, and R.L. Polk.

At the core of Tim's background is his education in Automotive Marketing at Northwood University. Of special note: several years after graduating Northwood asked Tim to be the lead author in re-writing three automotive textbooks, and write an entirely new book titled; Dealership Advertising. His book re-writes included Merchandising Parts and Service, History of Automotive Transportation – A Macro View, and Dealership Business Management. In 2001, Tim was awarded Northwood's Outstanding Alumni of the Year award.

Tim also completed an intense course in Instructional Design through the University of Michigan's Executive School of Management.

Tim is a 25-year resident of Farmington, Michigan.
