Born at Windy Gap near Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. He married in Hot Sulphur Springs to Maud F, Strobridge on October 17, 1907. She was born September 29, 1884 in Goodland, Indiana, daughter of James Buchanan and Rebecca Ann (Waymire) Strobridge. They were parents of four children: Milton Frederick (twin), James Barron (twin), Raymond Russell,
and Mae. Fred was a rancher and mail carrier in the Hot Sulphur Springs area.

NOTE: According to the record on file at the cemetery Frederick was going by "Fred Ross" and McQueary in parenthesis had been added to his card. In the 1940 census he is under the name of Fred Ross living in Pueblo.
