Doloris Jean Day, age 71 of Pace, passed away Thursday June 6, 2013 . She was born in Johnson, NE on November 19, 1941 to William B. and Leona Eden Schutte, and graduated from Johnson High School in 1959. She worked with Civil Service for 23 years in various assignments including Jacksonville, FL and Columbus. OH, and worked in the Real Estate Industry in Pace, FL. She married Jerry J. Day in Virginia Beach, VA on August 17, 1987.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her son Jeffrey (Stephanie) Nelson; grandchildren, Zachery and Jessica Nelson; two sisters, Mavis Green of Auburn, NE and Ina Mae (Robert) Nicholson of Sterling Heights, MI; nieces, Judy (Charles) Grotrian of Brock, NE and Mary Jane Green of Syracuse, NE; nephews, Larry (Sue) Green of Destin, FL, Rick (Kim) Nicholson, and Todd (Suzy) Nicholson all of Sterling Heights, MI and Mark Nicholson of Troy, MI.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Thursday June 13, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel with funeral services to follow at 11:30 AM with Rev. Gina Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 8383 North Davis Highway, 3 North, Pensacola, Florida 32514.
