Mildred Marie Hermann, 92, of Streator, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 1998, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln (Ill.)
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist church. Rev. Richard Lewis will officiate.
Burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery....Visitation will be at 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home.
Born May 5, 1906, in Grand Rapids township, she was the daughter William and Julia (Horn) Bedei. She married Kenneth W. Hermann June 21, 1930. He died December 27, 1954.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard K. Hermann, and brothers, Raymond and Herbert Bedei.
She was a 1924 graduate of Ottawa Township High School. She obtained a teacher's certificate from Normal State Teacher's College (now Ill. State Univ.). She taught at rural Grand Rapids township area schools from 1925 to about 1932.
She was a member of United Methodist Women, Kings Daughters, a former member of Eastern Star. She was a Volunteer of the Year at Camelot Manor in 1985 (and worked many years there sewing and shopping for the residents). She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a former member of Home Extention of Grand Ridge. She was a member of the First United Methodist church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
