Janice Maureen Bailey, 72, of 1907 Kenwood Drive, Johnson City, died April 23, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Floyd and Juanita Leach Minton.

Janice was a graduate of Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University in 1964. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Hospital Pharmacy for many years, she had also taught History and Math. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy D. Hamrick. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

Survivors include: her husband, Elmer Ray Bailey of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Joseph and Cyndi Eorgan Bailey of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Catherine N. Bailey and Elizabeth A. Bailey both of Johnson City; a niece and her husband, Becky and David Estep of Milligan College and a nephew and his wife, Benjamin and Lisa Hamrick of Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews.A graveside service is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Rev. Bob Edmonds. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time to leave in procession to the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
