George Sanderson Dead, Former Boston Architect

Word has been received of the death of George A. Sanderson, 53, former Boston architect and feature editor since 1955 of Progressive Architecture magazine, in New York, Sunday.

Mr. Sanderson, son of the late George A. Sanderson, justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, was born in Ayer and attended Groton, Yale and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received his bachelor's degree in architecture. He practiced in Beverly Hills, Calif., and Boston, then was on the editorial staffs of Newsweek, Sweet's Architectural Catalog, Sunset Magazine and Architectural Record.

He served in the Office of War Information during World War II. He was a summer resident of Nantucket.

He leaves a brother, Bennett, Boston attorney, and a sister, Mrs. Julian Lovejoy of Manchester, N.H.
