Wednesday, May 10, 1911, page 1
Newell Meadows, aged ten years, and a son of Wm Meadows, of near True, this county, was accidentally killed this morning at a few minutes after 8 o'clock by the discharge of a gun, which he was carrying.
A phone message here stated that Newell and his older brother, Charley Meadows, were out hunting and that Newell stumbled and fell, which caused the gun he was carrying to be discharged, the contents passing though his body.
Newell was about ten years of age and often came to Hinton with his father, who sells milk and butter and vegetables in the city. He was a very bright boy and his untimely death comes as a distinct shock to his friends where he is known. Only meager particulars of the accident have been received.
