Floyd Earl Pulse, 82, Raymore, Missouri, formerly of Peculiar, Missouri, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Floyd was born July 15, 1930 in Clarence, Missouri. He married Ruby Maxine Babbitt on December 31, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri. He became a Christian in 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri. Floyd was a U. S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He worked in construction as a brick layer. Floyd liked to hunt and fish.
Floyd was preceded in death by his mother, Zulonia Jane Pulse, his wife, Ruby on September 16, 1998 and one great-grandchild, Jonathan Schrock. He is survived by one son, Mike Moddrell and his wife, Carol, Lawrence, Kansas; two daughters, Linda Cleary and her husband, Mike, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Terri Whalen, Raymore, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, David Moddrell, Stacey Schrock (Mitch), Scott Carter, Michael Moddrell, Brandon Carter, Andrew Moddrell (Missy), Mark McCubbin, Mary Beth Moddrell, Kellie Kasper (Tyler); 12 great-grandchildren, Kody, Lane, Chloe, Logan, Sage, Jagar, Rockney, Rachael, Aaron, Nathan, Carolyn, Marquise; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jonathan.
