Born May 21, 1956, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of Eula Faye (Childers) Erwin of Converse and the late John J. Erwin, Sr.
A former employee of Springs Industries, he was a member of Care Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Veteran.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter, Laura Beth Erwin of Greenville; a sister, Susie Russell of Clifton; three brothers, Joe Erwin of Pacolet, Steve Erwin of Clifton, and Mike Erwin of Converse; two grandsons, Austin and Tyler Fletcher of Greenville; thirteen nieces and nephews; and twelve great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Godfrey. Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck.
