Joseph Sylvester, aged 70, and for twenty-five years a resident of this city, occupying all that time the house in which he died, passed to rest on Friday evening: at his home in Pratt street after an illness with typhoid fever. The funeral services were held from the late home on Monday and interment was made in Mt. Adnah. Beside the widow, two sons, William of this city and George of Syracuse; one daughter, Mrs. George Douglas of Auburn; one sister, Mrs. Anna Croft of England survive.
