Clarence Adolphus Hobbs

Clarence A. Hobbs, 87, lifetime resident of Dickinson County, died this morning at Highland Personal Care Home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1889, on a farm north of Solomon. He attended Solomon schools and graduated from Solomon High School with the class of 1908. For several years he taught in rural county schools before moving to Abilene in 1912.
On June 4, 1913, he married Mary King in Portis, and she died in July, 1975.
In 1950, he retired from the Kleanall Cleaners which he owned and operated for 38 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge and Lodge 98 AF & AM.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Services for members of the family only will be held Saturday at the Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon. Friends may call Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.
