"Colonel Lamar and his wife Sarah had one son, Captain Lafayette Lamar, who was a delegate to the Secession Convention in January 1861. At the outbreak of the War Between the States, he organized the first company from Lincoln County (The Lamar Confederates), but died in Warrenton, Virginia during the war."

Second he married Mary Ann Simmons 4 Nov 1852 in Lincoln co, GA. She died Dec. 27, 1856.
Third he married Frances Ann Sale 9 Feb 1858 in Lincoln co, GA. She was born abt 1839, the daughter of Peyton and Frances Sale.
