Clares Kooiman passed from this life to be with the Lord on March 15, 2013. Clares was born on February 20, 1949 in Pipestone, Minnesota. Clares graduated from Ripon Christian High School and completed his education at California State University-Fresno with a degree in Business Management. He was Vice President of Multi Business Systems and managed the Modesto office for the past 34 years.

Clares is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Rie, of Modesto. He was a loving father to his son Eric (Heather) Kooiman of Bucharest, Romania and daughter Angie (Damian) Lagle of Jenner, CA. Clares was a wonderful Opa to his grandchildren Samuel and Hannah Kooiman, and Madeline and Quinn Lagle. Clares is also survived by his siblings, Maridel Visser of Modesto, CA, Myron Kooiman of Fresno, CA, Rod Kooiman of Grand Rapids, MI, and Tim Kooiman of Clayton, CA. In 1979 after working for Multi Business Systems in Bakersfield, Clares and his family decided to come “back home” and Clares started Accounting Business Systems. Clares was well known as a man of God who touched many lives in his service to the church, his family and the community. He was also a member of Spring Creek Golf and Country Club where he served as Board President and played many enjoyable rounds of golf.

A celebration of his life will be held at Big Valley Grace Community Church, 4040 Tully Road, Modesto, CA, on Friday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m.
