He leaves a wife, Mrs. Priscilla (Toland) Bacon, two sons and four grandchildren.

An obituary from the "Boston Traveler," 26 Dec 1947, reads in part:

Born in Jamaica Plain, Mr. Bacon was elected to the state senate in 1924 to represent the eighth Suffolk senatorial district.
He served for eight years and was president of the Senate from 1928 to 1932.
He was elected lieutenant-governor in 1932.
In 1920 he was a delegate to the Republican national convention and an alternate-at-large to the 1932 convention.

Mr. Bacon was a graduate of Groton School, Harvard University, class of 1908, and Harvard Law School four years later.
He joined the law offices of Gaston, Snow and Saltonstall in 1913.

He was a veteran of both World Wars. He rose from private to major in the field artillery during World War I, and held a major's commission during World War II.
He was awarded the Verdun medal and the Croix de Guerre by the French government for his brilliant leadership in the D-day Invasion of Normandy and in Northern France and the Rhineland with Gen. Patton's Third Army.
