Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Friday, August 1, 1969:
   Amelia Brave, 82, a lifetime resident of Edwardsville, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday in the Colonnades Nursing Home, Granite City.
   Born Oct. 4, 1886, in Red Bud, Mrs. Brave was the daughter of the late Louis and Lowena Brockmeier Gieseman. She was married to William H. Brave on Feb. 14, 1917, in Edwardsville. Mr. Brave survives.
   Besides her husband, Mrs. Brave is survived by one son, Robert Brave, Granite City, one daughter, LaVine Brave, St. Louis, two granddaughters, one brother, Charles H. Gieseman, St. Louis, and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothea Honerkamp, Worden, Bernadine Gieseman, St. Louis, and Mrs. Emma Bishop, Edwardsville.
   One brother preceded her in death.
   She was a member of Eden United Church of Christ, and of the Eden Women's Guild.
   Friends may call at the Pletcher Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Sunday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, Rev. Donald Crismon officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
