He was a self-made man, a gifted craftsman who worked from a very young age until the day he died, sometimes working three jobs as once, but never, never complaining. He taught himself Japanese and Spanish and delighted in striking up a conversation with unsuspecting and surprised foreigners when he was traveling, in a restaurant, and at other times.
He had a marvelous sense of humor and kept a running list of new jokes to share with the people on his "grapevine" who was every siding/window installer in Colorado via the telephone which he kept his hand on while watching the Avs or the Rockies most evenings.
Those of you who shared this man with us understand the void that we feel and how much he will be missed.
He was our rock - our most beloved Papa.
May God grant him the rest he so richly deserves.
