Son of Austin F. Carter, an iron moulder, and Lucy A. Grant, husband of Emma Bolton.

In 1880, Albert A. Carter, aged 8, could be found living in the home of his parents, Austin F. Carter, aged 39, and L.A. Carter, aged 37, in Hyde Park, Norfolk, Massachusetts, with siblings, George H. Carter, aged 5, and Nellie G. Carter, aged 4. His father was shown to be an iron moulder.

On April 21, 1898, Albert Austin Carter, born January 19, 1871 in Woburn, Massachusetts, occupation Civil Engineer, residing at Hyde Park, Massachusetts, was initiated into the Hyde Park Lodge, passed on May 19, 1898, and gained membership on June 16, 1898. His membership was sustained by the Grand Lodge on June 12, 1935.

From 1915 to 1925 Albert and Emma were living at 268 Bay Avenue in Patchogue. In 1915 he was described as an Engineer, and in 1920 and 1925 Albert was shown with no occupation at that time. Albert worked as an Assistant Civil Engineer working in road construction in 1940. He and Emma were living on South Ocean Avenue in Patchogue.

Obituary - Albert Austin Carter, aged 77, of 27 South Ocean Avenue, Patchogue, died Monday at the South Shore Convalescent Home. A retired engineer, Mr. Carter was a native of Dedham, Mass., and had lived 42 years in Patchogue.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Emma R. Carter of Patchogue; a brother, George, of Hyde Park, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Podbury, of Kingston, Mass.

The Rev. Harry S. Crossett conducted services yesterday in the C.W. Ruland Sons Funeral chapel, Patchogue. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
