Mrs. Black was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late H.L. "Sonny" and Dovie (Stewart) Duncan.
She was retired from Ryobi of Pickens.
Surviving, other than her husband of the home, are six daughters and their husbands, Janice and Glen Alexander of Liberty, Judy and Odis Summers of Easley, Vickie and Mike Durham, Kathy and Randy Chappell, Sandra and Phil Durham, and Donna and Rick McAlister, all of Six Mile; two sons, Michael Black and Jerry Black of Pickens; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by daughters, Patricia Young and Terri Elaine Black; also a great-grandson, Timothy Tyler Alexander.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, by the Rev. Roger Todd, with burial following in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
The family received friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
