George was my grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

My grandfather's supposed stepfather raised him after George's mother died and put him in a clothing business before WWI.
I say supposed because I have a feeling he may have been his real father. There is no proof.
Aunt Lila had once told me that Grandpa was very upset when some of his children changed their surname to Bradley. She also told me she didn't change her name and that he refused to allow them to do any research. Another time she told me at some time Mr. Block had gone overseas to try to get money that either belonged to him or was owed to him and came near losing his life.

No one, to the best of my knowledge, has a birth certificate for Grandpa.
The funeral director penned in the name of Nellie Williams (his mother) on the side of a note/record. I do not have a copy of this.
I could come up with a reasonable story but without documentation it would be hearsay.

My grandmother told me he would drive out to Wauconda by horse & buggy from Chicago to see my grandmother before they married.
After the war he worked for an automobile sales company in Norwood Park & retired from the same.
I have a few of the letters he sent to Grandma while off on hunting trips with friends.
I probably wasn't the best behaved of their grandchildren although they tried. One time I decorated my hair with Grandpa's fishing lures...lol And Grandma was not very happy when he taught my girlfriend and I to play cards!
