Man, 76, Drops Dead At Fair
David F. Boyd, aged 76 and retired, dropped dead of heart failure on the midway Wednesday afternoon while attending the Lake County Fair, just after he was greeted by and old friend and neighbor, Louis Knight.
Mr. Knight saw his old friend standing in the fair throng about 1 p.m. and approached to speak. He asked Mr. Boyd what time he arrived at the grounds. The aged man replied that it was about 10 a.m. and dropped suddenly. Fiser's ambulance was called and the body removed to his late residence on Liberty St.
For the past five years, Mr. Boyd had lived in retirement at 554 Liberty St. Prior to that he lived 25 years on his farm on Madison Ave. He is survived by his wife, Kittie.
The funeral services will be held at his late home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev. Willis S. Webb. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
