He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Joe Cooling II; ten brothers and one sister.
Billy was a member and a trustee of First Baptist Church of Goodrich, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II saw action at Normandy on D day at Omaha Beach. Billy also fought in Battle of the Bulge. Billy was a proud member of the VFW Post #8568 in Livingston, Texas, member of Carpenter Union local 1226, past vice-president. Volunteer at Polk County Mission for many years. Billy loved to fish but his favorite hobby was helping people.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5pm til 8pm at Pace Funeral Home. Celebration of Billy's life will be held at Pace Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 22th at 10 am with Rev. Tom Owens officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery with Military Honor provided by VFW Post 8568 of Livingston.
