Mrs. Joseph Lightfoot, 80, widely-known and long time resident of Honolulu, died Tuesday morning [October 7, 1947] at the Queen's hospital after an extended illness. She was born on Sept 9, 1867, in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, and had lived in the Islands for more than 60 years. She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. K.W. Dennett, of 2947 Manoa Rd. Other daughters surviving are Mrs. A. T. Longley of Wahiawa, Mrs. Clifton Andrus of Fort Sill, Okla., and Mrs. George Daughtry, now in Okinawa. She was the widow of Joseph Lighfoot, Honolulu attorney and one time attorney general of Hawaii. Private services will be held, and the family requests that no flowers be sent.
