Lester H. Sweigart, 69, of Clearfield, PA died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born October 8, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of Harvey E. and Mary N.(Hoffman) Sweigart.
He retired from General Electric Company in Lexington, KY. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clearfield and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by a step daughter Nancy Sloppy and her husband Merv of Clearfield and a step son Greg Holt and his wife Jean of Pittston, PA, eight step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers Harvey Sweigart, Jr. and his wife Evelyn of Millerstown, PA, Robert Sweigart and his wife Carol of Richfield, PA, George Sweigart and his wife Olive of Millerstown and Charles Sweigart and his wife Peg of Liverpool, PA and five sisters Beatrice Sweigart of Liverpool, Ruth Miller and her husband Charles of Millerstown, Romaine Klinger and her husband Edward of Liverpool, Geraldine Matichkitis of Laurel, PA and Shirley Goodling and her husband David of Millerstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hazel Jane (Hubler) Sweigart whom he married October 9, 1973 in Townson, MD and who died October 20, 2003, a brother Frankie Sweigart, a sister Emma Boydner and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Pastor Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.
