Widow of Rev. Otto S. Baker Succumbs After Long Illness

Cortland, NY, Nov. 30 - Mrs. Rosalie A. Baker, widow of the Rev. Otto S. Maker, died at her home, 38 West Main Street, Cortland, following a long illness.

She was born March 19, 1857 in Morristown, the daughter of Ignatious and Adalie Gay Clineburg. The greater part of her life was passed at Lindley. She was a school teacher for several years.

On May 18, 1887, she was married to the Rev. Otto S. Baker at Lindley. They lived at various times in Utica, Fulton, Herkimer, Gloversville, Glens Falls, Rome and Binghamton where her husband served as pastor of the Free Methodist churches in those places. He died in Binghamton, in 1919. For the last 20 years she has made her home in Cortland.

She is survived by one son, Benjamin Baker of Brookline, PA, and two ganddaughters, Joanne and Elsie Baker of Lexington, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Another son, Ernest Baker, a Lieutenant in the Marines, was killed in July 1942.

Funeral services will be held at 2 tomorrow afternoon in the Free Methodist Church of which she was a member. The Rev. Dudley Rose, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
