Dorothy S. (Dottie) Dobson, 92, of Pinellas Park, FL, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013; she was under the care of Suncoast Hospice while at Lexington Rehab and Nursing Center. Dottie was born on May 23, 1921, in Jamaica, NY, and lived most of her life in Massachusetts. She moved to Florida in 1993.

She served as a Corporal in the Women's Army Corp during WWII. She received the American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. She was a member of the US Army Reserves for many years were she attained the rank of Master Sergeant.

Of Swedish descent, Dottie lived in Sweden for several years as a young child. The family with whom she stayed remained close to her heart and she corresponded with them and their descendants' right up to the present. She worked for many years at the Norton Company and retired as a Supervisor.

Dottie was a lifelong Lutheran and very devoted to her church. She spent many hours each week as a volunteer doing various tasks at Paradise Lutheran Church.

She was active at Greenbrier Mobile Home Park, taking it upon herself to send a card to any resident having a birthday or special occasion.

She will be interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery on July 2, 2013, at 1:30PM. Services will be conducted by Rev. John R. Thompson.
