OBIT: Staunton News Leader Jun 29 1937 p 2 Mrs. Rebecca V. Hill died here Saturday night at nine o'clock. She was born in Augusta County Mar 22 1849, a daughter of William A and Sarah Myers Crosby, and spent most of her life in Staunton. Her husband, Henry C. Hill, died some years ago. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Sadie E. Froom; a great granddaughter and two great great grandchildren; two brothers, John Crosby, Richmond; G.A. Crosby, Roanoke; two sisters, Miss Augusta Crosby and Miss Odie Crosby, Staunton. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of Hamrick & co, conducted by the Rev. F.L. Baker of the Marquis Memorial Methodist church in the absence of her paster Dr. G.G. Martin of Central church of which she had been a member since childhood. The Rev. W.S. Thomas assisted. Burial was in Thornrose Cemetery. pallbearers being B. Marvin Weller, S. Taylor Weller, Webster Weller, T.M. Borden, Kenny Baugh, Rudolph Sumate (Shumate), S.B. Holt, J. Harry Bryan.
