James Conner Alford, 76 of Renick, Greenbrier County, died Tuesday at the home of a son in South Charleston after a long illness. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide. Surviving: wife, Mrs. Leona McCoy Alford; sons, Dewey of South Charleston, James C. of Rainelle; brother, Woodrow of Florida; sister, Mrs. Aretta Conway of Florida; 10 grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston.
