Funeral of Woman Native of Oregon Arranged
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Margaret E. Frazier, who died at her home, 1436 Northeast Fifteenth avenue, March 15, will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock at the Portland Mausoleum chapel, corner of Bybee street and Southeast Fourteenth avenue. Burial will be by vault entombment. Services will be conducted by Rev. Albert G. Johnson of Hinson Memorial Baptist church. Mrs. Frazier’s parents, Martha Wills Long and Edward Long, came to Oregon by covered wagon. Their daughter Margaret was born December 18, 1851, on the Long donation land claim at a site which is now approximately Milwaukie avenue and Holgate street. She attended the old district No. 2 school, and was a Sunday school teacher at Lee chapel. She was a charter member of the old First Baptist church of East Portland, having been continuously a member of the succeeding church organizations, now the Hinson Memorial. She was very active in the women’s society of the congregation. Mrs. Frazier, widow of a former sheriff of Multnomah county, William Frazier, was an expert horsewoman and a devoted member of the Oregon Pioneers’ association.

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Frazier, 83, widow of Sheriff William Frazier of Portland, died yesterday at her residence, 1436 Northeast Fifteenth avenue. For her entire life she had been a resident of this city, having been born in Portland December 18, 1851. She is survived by her son, Charles R. Frazier, her granddaughter, Cecile M. Frazier, and three grandsons, Dr. W. R. Wallace, E. and Lloyd M. Frazier, all of Portland. The body is at Finley’s, where funeral arrangements have not been completed.
