Elizabeth was the daughter of Solomon Thornburg & Mary M. Staley. She married John W. Griffin, 27 Dec 1832 in Cabell County, Virginia (now West Virginia). She was the mother of at least 12 children, nine who died as infants and one adult, are also buried in this cemetery. One child, Sarah J. born 1853 is unaccounted for at this time.
