++ BODY OF LOCAL MAN IS FOUND IN N.Y. RESERVOIR ++
*Roland Marney, 28, Left Here Seeking Work; Car Found On 16th*

The body of a man believed to be Roland Marney, 28, of 16 Fuller Court, this city, was found floating in Bradley Brook Reservoir, in the town of Eaton, N.Y., yesterday, according to a notice sent out by state police at Oneida, N.Y. Marney, who is reported to have served in the Navy during World War II, left Springfield a little more than a week ago and on Oct. 16 his automobile was found on a road in West Eaton, N.Y.
Marney's wife is employed at the Howard Johnson restaurant in West Springfield. She was notified of the finding of the body by Springfield police and said she would go to New York as soon as possible to establish positive identification of the body. Marney's parents reside in Indian Orchard.
Marney is the father of two boys, 3 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old. When he left home, Mrs. Marney told police, he said he intended to find a job in some other section and when he became established he would send money for her and the children.
The description of the body, which was found in the reservoir, as sent out by New York State Police, closely fits that of Marney. Marney wore a wedding ring on a finger of his left hand, and there was a ring on the body found in the reservoir. Marney had red hair and New York police said the drowned man had red hair. Marney is known to have had a leather jacket with him and he is reported to have sent his clothes to a laundry here. The drowned man was wearing a leather jacket and there were laundry marks on his clothing, police stated.
When Marney's car was found abandoned on the New York State road on the 16th, New York police sent word to Springfield police and asked the latter to check with the owner to see if this car had been stolen. At that time Springfield police were told by Mrs. Marney that her husband had taken the car after saying that he was going to some other section of the country to seek work. Nothing else was heard of Marney by police or his wife until yesterday's message. The reservoir, according to New York state police, is not far from where the car was found.
When Marney left home he did not seem dejected, police were told. The body was reported to have been in the water for several days. It was removed to Vaughn's funeral home in Morrisville, N.Y.
